In-House Program

Volunteer Opportunities

The WAA Softball program is an all volunteer program.  There are no paid positions (including the director.)  The program does not exist to provide babysitting for your children.  The program exists to facilitate parents and guardians connecting with their children through sports.  Many volunteers are needed every year.  You can make a difference.

In-House Commissioners

Every year, each grade level league needs a commissioner.

The Commissioners job entails: 

• Recruiting sufficient coaches for their league from volunteer lists or from player's parents.
• Meeting with the coach volunteers at the beginning of the season to form teams.
• Serving as the communication link between the coaches and parents and the program director.
• Distributing team photos, tournament schedules and trophies.
• Meeting with the program director at the conclusion of the season to provide feedback had make decisions about changes in the program for the next year.

In-House Coaches

75 or more head coaches are needed every season.  Every head coach could use at lease 2 assistants.  That's 225 on more volunteers needed yearly!  If you are interested in helping out, sign-up in the yellow volunteer book at registrations, see: Summer Registration Information.

In-House Tournament Coordinator - duties include:

• Responsible for organizing in-house tournament committee
• Create tournament schedule and brackets
• Publish tournament results on website
• Oversee field site during tournament
