Farewell Denise

After directing the Golf Leagues for many years I resigned my post December 2007 when Cecil Spivey volunteered to run the program for 2008. I would like to thank the many, many young golfers who played the leagues over the years, I have greatly enjoyed getting to know you and your most wonderful families. Over the years I have directed the program, it has grown from 38 players to over 380 and it has gone from playing 1 league at a short par 9 course to now playing 6 leagues at 4 different courses with a progressive challenge for each level of golfer. In recent years, the golfers who have played the league over the past many years grew in skill, and as they matured into awesome young adults, I was able to begin offering lessons by hiring back these young adults who had grown up through the leagues. The leagues have a nice sense of continuity for all.

These coaches and league supervisors provided a good supportive program to those wanting to learn the game. The leagues provide an excellent opportunity for all of our children to learn the game, hone their skills, share their love and skill of the game, and continue the time honored traditions of friendships and camaraderie found in this game of a lifetime.

Please know how very much I have appreciated the support and kindnesses over the years. The families of the WAA Golf Leagues and their children are remarkable. Each course was always impressed with the caliber of the young golfers who played through our leagues. I am greatly honored to have been part of such a phenomenal program.

If you have any questions, on the leagues for 2008, please contact Cecil at cecil.spivey@comcast.net

Enjoy the rest of the school year, a good summer, and as always…

The best of play.

Denise
